Dancefloor Diplomacy is a music project created by KJ Rothweiler and Jakob Dorof, As Jakob told us, they know each other since the higschool days, maybe that`s why this music project is so solid; Anyway this guys are bringing the mash up concept striped down to it`s basics.
Nowadays, laptops and Midi instruments do all the work on stage, “just push play” is what sometimes is all about, and that`s boring, we`re not talking about boring music, we`re talking about boring live acts.
Well, Danceflor Diplomacy changes all that, they just release a video clip for the song:
We Are Ready
“a song made from 38 other songs, sourced from everything from recent pop, rock, dance and rap to ’60s soul, 19th century classical, Japanese video game music, and on.“
Performed lived by a 20-person band.

“Obviously, there are a lot of precedents for what we’re doing — vinyl wizards like DJ Shadow and the Avalanches, mashup maestro Girl Talk, hip-hop’s early innovation of taking someone else’s music to make something new of your own — but this way of thinking about music has never been attempted by a flesh-and-blood band on such a large scale before. …we think of our composition process like that of a 2D art collage: cutting things up, rearranging them, recombining them, and trying to make our own thing out of a bunch of other people’s stuff. We’re looking forward to showing what else we can do with it.”
